Australia Day Active Citizens Awards – 26th January

The Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizen awards celebrate those who have made an outstanding contribution the local community. There are three award categories, including a person under 25, citizen of the year, senior of the year, and event or group of the year. The ceremony is held at the ANZAC Memorial, and afterwards, a barbecue celebration is held at the Village Green. This ceremony is usually held on the Thursday afternoon before Australia Day, as many people go away for the long weekend.

Corporate Bowls – February

All businesses are invited to team up and participate over four weeks in the Bowls Competition. This is a fundraiser for the either the St John Ambulance or the Bush FIrebrigade Volunteers.

Virtual Rottnest Swim – 3rd Saturday in February

The Virtual Rottnest Swim is held annually at the Perenjori Aquatic Centre. Feel free to get a team together to swim the 20kms for a good cause. The Perenjori Hotel usually puts in a team, which raises money for the local emergency services.

Duel in the Dirt – 1st weekend in March (Long weekend in March)

The WA Off Road Racing Championships is held at the Perenjori oval, utilising surrounding farm land as the race track. Vehicles range from road going production vehicles to custom built tube frame trophy trucks ad buggies. A great weekend event for all, particularly motor enthusiasts, bringing visitors and extra business to the town. Check in the news feed for current tracks, times and specator areas.

Pink Stumps Cricket Day – March

Each year, the Perenjori Cricket Club hosts ‘Pink Stumps Day’, a fun event for all ages, with proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation to support those with breast cancer. This event gets organised by the Perenjori Cricket Club.

CountryArtsWA Touring program – once a year

Each year, the Shire of Perenjori is accommodating a touring show program in the town hall. In 2016 ‘Everything must go’ was a huge success. In 2017 ‘Kooka Kookaburra’ entertained the children on the 18th of May. The Great Danes are performing 16th October 2018.

Anzac Day Ceremony – 25th April

A Commemoration Service is held on the 25th April each year at the ANZAC Memorial, including locals reading prayers, music from the Morawa High School band and locals, and wreath laying. A community breakfast is held at the Village Green after the service.

Perenjori and Districts Agricultural Show – 2nd Saturday in August

The Agricultural Show offers activities for the whole family, including local agricultural, school and business displays, along with music and a fireworks display in the evening. Click here for more information

Blues for the Bush Open Day and Concert – September 2018 (Long weekend, Beginning of School holiday)

Blues for the Bush is a biennial celebration of life in the Bush. This is a unique event that brings the community to part of Australia’s only Bio Diversity Hotspot, the ‘Charles Darwin Reserve’ in Perenjori. It is a culmination of culture, arts, environmental and heritage agendas and attracts people from all over the region, state and Australia, with free camping and plenty of entertainment on offer. Emergency Services Ball – every second year in October

The CRC is organising biannually a Ball for the North Midlands. All profits will go to the Volunteering groups in Perenjori such as the Bush Fire brigade and the St John Ambulance. Information available at the Post Office – 9973 1071

Seniors and Volunteers Dinner – November 2018 (During Seniors week or Thank a Volunteer Day)

A dinner celebration event for the seniors and volunteers in our community.

Christmas Street Party – 1st Saturday in December

Includes local market stalls, crafts and a BBQ, with a visit from Santa to entertain the kids. This event is organised by the Perenjori Community Resource Centre.
